Back up and restore world saves
Make an untouched copy of your Total Miner world saves before installing, updating, importing, or troubleshooting community content.
A world you own or have permission to copy; enough free disk space for a second copy.
Close Total Miner before copying a world so files are not changing during the backup.
Use the launcher or game support information to open the save location. Copy the complete world folder—not selected files—to a backup folder outside the managed game installation. Give the backup a date and a recognizable world name.
To test an imported world, keep the original backup untouched and work from a copy. If a world becomes damaged, close the game, move the damaged copy aside, and restore the complete backed-up folder. Never overwrite your only known-good copy.
Launcher updates manage program files independently from save locations, but backups remain the safest protection against disk failure, accidental deletion, incompatible community content, or mistakes made outside the launcher.
